Background
Extranet-lite is TBO Holidays' hotel-facing portal — where properties manage inventory, rates, and commercial settings. As the B2B network grew, hotels needed finer control over promotions and tax rules without drowning in configuration complexity.
Problem Statement
Hotels couldn't create room- or rate-plan-specific promotions, run regional campaigns, or manage taxes consistently across markets. Marketing flexibility was limited, and billing discrepancies created friction between hotels and travel agents.
Business Opportunity
Richer promotion tooling (Early Bird, Last Minute, event-driven deals) and a flexible tax module would help hotels compete on price and clarity — driving engagement on TBO Holidays and reducing support overhead.
Proposed Solution
I designed flows for advanced promotion management, region-based campaigns, and dynamic tax configuration — paired with in-product guidance (announcements, FAQs, tutorial storyboards) so non-expert users could adopt features confidently.
My role & UX approach
- Interviewed stakeholders and hotel users to understand promotion types, tax edge cases, and error-prone setup steps
- Translated complex business rules (LOS, Early Bird, Last Minute, Stay Pay) into step-by-step wizards with sensible defaults
- Used progressive disclosure — simple paths for common deals, advanced panels for power users
- Ran usability reviews on tax creation flows to reduce misconfiguration and ambiguous labels
- Designed announcement, FAQ, and video tutorial screens as part of the release — not an afterthought

Outcomes
Hotels gained self-serve control over targeted promotions and region-specific taxes. Clearer setup flows and embedded guidance reduced confusion during rollout. For TBO Holidays, the result was stronger partner engagement, more compelling deals in-market, and fewer billing disputes — reinforcing the platform's B2B value.
